New Delhi, July 31 : A London-bound Air India flight had to be cancelled on Thursday due to a technical malfunction. The Boeing 787-9 aircraft, scheduled to depart from Delhi Airport for London under flight number AI-2017, could not take off and was grounded following the detection of the issue.

Flight Cancelled as Precautionary Measure
According to an official spokesperson from Air India, flight AI-2017 had to return due to a technical glitch. The cockpit crew followed standard operating procedures and decided not to proceed with the flight. The aircraft was subsequently taken back for precautionary inspection.
Alternative Aircraft Being Arranged
The spokesperson further added that an alternative aircraft is being arranged to transport the affected passengers to London as soon as possible. Ground staff are actively assisting and caring for passengers to minimise inconvenience caused by the unexpected delay.
