Bengaluru, June 28: Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, the Chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), stated that India’s comprehensive and unified perspective addresses the solutions the world seeks for its problems. He emphasized that it is India’s duty to provide completeness to the world, and the work of the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal (BSM) is part of a broader civilizational mission.
Dr. Bhagwat spoke at the closing ceremony of the three-day national conference of the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, titled “Operationalizing NEP-2020: Integrating Indian Knowledge Systems,” held at the Art of Living International Center from June 26 to 28.
He pointed out that current global ideologies only present partial aspects of life and society, while the Indian perspective views life in its entirety. He stated, “It is essential to convey India’s holistic vision for global welfare to the world. Our task is indeed to provide completeness to the world.”
Dr. Bhagwat noted that the Indian viewpoint does not dismiss other ideas but acknowledges that each society has developed its life perspective based on its experiences. The Indian tradition is rooted in the principle of ‘diversity,’ which respects all viewpoints and emphasizes understanding the essence of truth through dialogue and debate.
He explained that truth is so vast that no single perspective can encompass it entirely. This is why the Indian vision is considered more comprehensive and complete.
The Chief of RSS clarified that the objective of the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal is not limited to vocational education. It is based on the concept of holistic human development, linking education not just to economic aspects but also to human, cultural, and moral values.
He added that the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal aims to develop an educational system rooted in Indian life values, paving the way for the overall development of both individuals and society.
Dr. Bhagwat mentioned that the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal operates independently of all political parties and their needs. He referenced leaders of the freedom movement who also kept such constructive work separate from political organizations, as such efforts cannot be effectively carried out while being affiliated with political parties.
He asserted that this independent working style, commitment to Indian values, and a broad vision for global welfare distinguish the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal from other institutions.
On this occasion, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat also launched the new website of the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, stating that it would effectively reach the concept of Indian education and the organization’s activities to teachers, researchers, and the general public both domestically and internationally.
The closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, National President of the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, Dr. Bharatsharan Singh, National General Secretary, and nearly 380 educators, researchers, and representatives from across the country.
The conference was inaugurated by Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot. It focused on various aspects of effectively implementing the National Education Policy-2020 and strengthening an education system based on Indian knowledge traditions.
