Indias Exports Surge by 11.05% to $76.13 Billion in February 2026

New Delhi, March 16: India’s total exports, including goods and services, rose by 11.05% year-on-year to reach $76.13 billion in February 2026, according to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The ministry reported that the cumulative exports for the period from April to February in the fiscal year 2026 are expected to be $790.86 billion, compared to $747.58 billion during the same period in the previous fiscal year.

Official data indicates that the country’s goods exports amounted to $36.61 billion last month, slightly down from $36.91 billion in February of the previous year.

For the April-February period of the fiscal year 2025-26, goods exports totaled $402.93 billion, showing a modest increase from $395.66 billion in the same period last year, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 1.84%.

According to the ministry’s figures, the estimated value of services exports for February is $39.53 billion, up from $31.65 billion in February 2025. For the April-February period of 2025-26, services exports are projected to reach $387.93 billion, compared to $351.93 billion in the previous fiscal year.

Key drivers of the growth in goods exports in February include engineering goods, electronic items, organic and inorganic chemicals, precious stones and jewelry, as well as meat, dairy, and poultry products.

Engineering goods exports increased from $9.17 billion in February 2025 to $10.36 billion in February 2026, marking a growth of 12.90%. Exports of electronic goods rose from $3.79 billion to $4.18 billion during the same period, reflecting a 10.37% increase.

Exports of organic and inorganic chemicals grew from $2.23 billion in February 2025 to $2.38 billion last month, showing a 6.85% increase. Jewelry and precious stones exports rose from $2.53 billion to $2.64 billion, a growth of 4.08%.

Additionally, exports of meat, dairy, and poultry products increased from $0.45 billion to $0.55 billion, representing a significant rise of 22.66%.

During the April-February period of 2025-26, merchandise imports totaled $713.53 billion, compared to $657.46 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year. The merchandise trade deficit for this period stood at $310.60 billion, up from $261.80 billion in the previous year.

According to the commerce ministry’s data, the estimated value of service imports during the April-February period of 2025-26 is $186.98 billion, compared to $181.23 billion in the previous fiscal year. The services trade surplus for this period is projected to be $200.96 billion, an increase from $170.69 billion in the previous year.
