Indias Diplomatic Triumph Highlighted in New Delhi Declaration, Says Expert

Mumbai, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : The New Delhi Declaration, unanimously adopted at the BRICS summit, has been hailed as a historic achievement by foreign affairs expert Vail Awad. He noted that despite inherent contradictions, India successfully brought all competing nations to the table to discuss prosperity, trade, and economic cooperation. The declaration prominently addressed terrorism, the peaceful resolution of bilateral disputes, and the need for United Nations reform, marking a significant diplomatic victory for India.

Awad stated, “This will forever be remembered as the Delhi Declaration, as India managed to unite all opposing parties to discuss mutual prosperity, economic interdependence, trade, and related issues.” He emphasized that the declaration encapsulated key points India wanted to convey, as well as those from other nations, framing it as a win for all BRICS members.

He pointed out that India effectively raised the issue of terrorism, advocating for anti-terror measures and insisting that no nation should support terrorism. Another crucial point was India’s success in promoting the peaceful resolution of bilateral issues, alongside the agenda for UN reform. These were critical topics where India sought to assert its stance.

Awad remarked that the gathering of Global South leaders to discuss shared interests is a significant development. It highlights the shifting geopolitical landscape, addressing issues such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict, turmoil in West Asia, and unrest in the Asia-Pacific region. He also noted the importance of considering challenges related to Lebanon, Palestine, Iran, and the Houthis.

He expressed confidence that this group would not only emerge as an economic power but could also evolve into a political force that must be reckoned with in the coming years. Members should position themselves to attract more nations and ensure that the BRICS group truly represents South-South cooperation in a multipolar world.
