Indian Weavers Celebrate National Handloom Day with Pride

New Delhi, August 7: Nitin Naveen, the National General Secretary of the BJP, extended his greetings on National Handloom Day through a video message on the social media platform X. He emphasized that today, handloom artisans have set a new benchmark through their hard work, giving the weaving community a distinct identity.

He noted that whether it is Bhagalpur in Bihar, Assam’s Pat Silk, or Chhattisgarh’s Kosa, weavers across India have worked tirelessly to preserve their traditions. It is fair to say that our weavers have remarkably showcased Indian culture and traditions, earning widespread admiration.

Nitin Naveen remarked that our weavers have redefined Indian traditions. As a result, there is a renewed enthusiasm among weavers that is hard to express in words. I take pride in stating that Indian weavers have established a unique identity globally through their dedication and effort.

He added that we are actively working to uplift our weaver brothers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently advocated for the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative, which aims to elevate local artisans to a global platform. To be honest, this effort by Prime Minister Modi is providing support to our weavers. Under the ‘Vocal for Local’ principle, he is inspiring and motivating our weaver community. Our government is committed to ensuring that the interests of weavers are protected.

Nitin Naveen concluded by stating that we are focused on encouraging weavers to make India self-reliant. We are continuously setting new milestones in development.
