New Delhi, August 7: In a thrilling encounter of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026, Old Delhi 6 defeated New Delhi Tigers by 27 runs. Chasing a target of 178 runs set by Old Delhi, the New Delhi team managed to score only 150 runs, losing 8 wickets in the process.
New Delhi Tigers had a shaky start, with Tanuj Pawar dismissed for just 2 runs. Following him, Lakshya Thareja faced 12 balls but could only contribute 10 runs. At 13 runs, New Delhi Tigers found themselves in trouble, having lost two wickets. However, captain Himmat Singh and Vaibhav Rawal steadied the innings, forming a crucial partnership of 54 runs for the third wicket.
Vaibhav scored 33 runs off 32 balls before getting out. Captain Himmat made 36 runs off 25 balls, hitting one four and three sixes before being dismissed by Uddhav Mohan. Keshav Dalal Singh failed to capitalize on a good start, scoring 25 runs off 18 balls before returning to the pavilion. Manish Sheharawat contributed 16 runs, while Rahul Chaudhary and Hrithik Shaukeen added 7 and 14 runs, respectively.
On the bowling front, Rajneesh Dadar from Old Delhi 6 excelled, taking 3 wickets for just 26 runs in his 4 overs. Uddhav Mohan and Ajay Ahlawat each claimed two wickets.
Earlier, Old Delhi 6 posted a total of 177 runs after losing 8 wickets in their innings. The team did not start well, with Dhananjay Singh bowled out for 9 runs by Lakshman. However, Aryan Gaur and Dev Lakra took charge, adding 79 runs for the second wicket, with Dev scoring 20 runs.
Captain Anuj Rawat (8 runs) and Ashwini Chhillar (4 runs) failed to make a significant impact. Aryan, however, anchored the innings, scoring a powerful 91 runs off just 42 balls, including 11 fours and 4 sixes. On the bowling side, Lakshman from New Delhi Tigers took 4 wickets for 29 runs, while Hrithik Shaukeen also claimed 4 wickets for just 18 runs.
