Indian Navy Announces 60 Vacancies for Commissioned Officers: Apply Soon!

New Delhi, June 15: A remarkable opportunity has emerged for young individuals aspiring to join the Indian Navy. The Indian Navy has invited applications from unmarried male and female candidates for 60 permanent commissioned officer positions. Interested candidates have only a few days left to apply, with the deadline set for June 18.

These appointments will be made following the completion of a four-year B.Tech course at the prestigious Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, under the 10+2 B.Tech Cadet Entry Scheme.

Among the 60 vacancies in the technical branch, there are 30 positions for Mechanical Engineering and 30 for Electronics and Communication Engineering. Notably, there are a maximum of 8 vacancies for women in Mechanical Engineering and 4 each in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The online application process commenced on May 29, and the final date for submission is June 18. Eligible candidates wishing to apply for these positions can complete their registration on the Join Indian Army official portal before the deadline.

Applicants must have completed their Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 pattern) or an equivalent exam with at least 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized board, along with a minimum of 50% in English in either Class 10 or Class 12. Candidates who have appeared for the JEE (Main) 2026 examination for B.E/B.Tech are also eligible to apply.

Selection of qualified candidates will be based on the JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) – 2026, followed by shortlisting of applications, Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews, medical tests, police verification, character verification, and the general merit list. Candidates must have been born between July 2, 2007, and January 1, 2010.

Selected candidates will be enrolled as cadets for the four-year B.Tech course, which will be conducted according to the Navy’s requirements in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding (only for 7 selected candidates from Mechanical Engineering). Upon completion of the course, a B.Tech degree will be awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
