Beirut, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : The Indian Embassy in Beirut recently held the ‘Developed India Run 2026’, attended by Lebanon’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Nora Bayrakdarian, and MP Adib Abdel Massih. This event was part of the Service Fortnight initiative running from September 17 to October 2, and took place on September 18.
According to the embassy’s announcement on X, the event featured an 800-meter run that attracted more than 200 members of the Indian diaspora.
In collaboration with Lebanon’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Indian Embassy also participated in the Lebanese Week of Sports by organizing a table tennis tournament and various athletic competitions.
Earlier, Indian Ambassador Noor Rahman Sheikh presented five motorcycles manufactured in India to the mayor of Jezzine Municipality, David Halo, as part of the Indian government’s Quick Impact Projects initiative. The aim of this initiative is to support local communities and enhance municipal services. Ambassador Sheikh reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Lebanon through practical, community-focused initiatives.
Additionally, on Wednesday, the Indian Embassy celebrated ITEC Day 2026, with Lebanon’s Minister of Industry, Joseph El Khoury, serving as the chief guest. The event included participation from the Chairperson of the Civil Service Board, Nisreen Machmouchi, and other senior officials from various ministries, along with ITEC alumni.
