With this win, India levelled the five-match Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2-2. Mohammed Siraj turned the match in India’s favour by taking 5 wickets in the second innings, securing a dramatic finish for the team.

On Monday, the final day of the match, England needed just 35 runs with 4 wickets remaining. Siraj dismissed 3 batters and sealed the victory for India.
The match began on Thursday at The Oval, where England chose to bowl first. In the first innings, India scored 224 runs while England replied with 247, taking a 23-run lead. In the second innings, India bounced back strongly by scoring 396 runs, setting England a target of 374.
At one point, England had reached 300 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. However, Harry Brook was dismissed after scoring a century, and India capitalised on the breakthrough by reducing England to 354 for 8.
Gus Atkinson and Josh Tongue tried to take the team to victory, but Siraj claimed the final wicket and ensured a narrow win for India. Injured Chris Woakes also came out to bat left-handed but couldn’t lead the team to victory.
