India Unveils 84-Member Team for ISSF Junior World Championship

New Delhi, June 15: The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) announced an 84-member Indian team for the ISSF Junior World Championship on Monday. This prestigious event will take place in Suhl, Germany, featuring the nation’s top junior shooters competing in rifle, pistol, and shotgun events.

The championship will commence on June 16, with athletes and officials arriving at the venue. Training sessions and technical meetings are scheduled for June 17, ahead of the qualification rounds and finals, which will run from June 18 to June 25. The team and officials are expected to return on June 26.

India is set to make a strong showing across all events. In the rifle category, six shooters will compete in both the 10-meter air rifle junior men’s and women’s events, as well as the 50-meter rifle 3 positions junior men’s and women’s categories. Additionally, three shooters will participate in the 50-meter rifle prone junior men’s event, while four will compete in the 50-meter rifle prone junior women’s event.

The pistol team comprises six shooters each for the 10-meter air pistol junior men’s and women’s categories. India will also send four shooters for the 25-meter rapid fire pistol junior men’s event and eight shooters for the 25-meter sports pistol junior women’s competition.

In the 25-meter pistol junior men’s event, three shooters will participate. The team includes six shooters each in the 25-meter standard pistol junior men’s and women’s categories. Furthermore, six players will compete in the 50-meter pistol junior men’s event, four in the 50-meter pistol junior women’s event, and three in the rifle SS category.

For shotgun events, India will send six shooters each for the trap junior men’s, trap junior women’s, and skeet junior men’s events, along with four shooters in the skeet junior women’s category. Additionally, India will participate in mixed events, fielding two teams each in the air rifle mixed team junior, air pistol mixed team junior, and trap mixed team junior competitions.
