India-UK Free Trade Agreement: A Major Achievement for the Nation, Says Gajendra Singh Shekhawat

Jodhpur, August 5: Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has hailed the recently signed free trade agreement between India and the UK as a significant achievement for the country. He emphasized that this agreement will greatly benefit India’s engineering, handicrafts, and leather industries.

Shekhawat stated, “Under this agreement, 99% of goods exported from India to the UK will now be exempt from import duties. This means goods will enter the UK at zero tariffs.”

He further highlighted, “On the very first day of this agreement coming into effect, products worth $140 million were exported under its provisions. This gives you an idea of how crucial this agreement is.”

The Union Minister also mentioned that the agreement includes a mobility clause, which will facilitate easier movement of people for work and business between the two nations.

“When a mobility agreement is established between two countries, work visas become much easier to obtain. I believe there will be an increase in the number of people traveling from India to the UK in the tech sector. Indian talent will now have the opportunity to work better for the country on a global scale,” Shekhawat added.

On another note, regarding the upcoming Panchayati Raj and urban body elections in Rajasthan, Shekhawat expressed confidence that the BJP will achieve significant victories across the board.

He remarked, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, a new wave of development has begun in every assembly constituency in the state. The BJP organization is working with complete unity, and we are taking these elections very seriously.”

Shekhawat concluded, “I am fully confident that the people of Rajasthan will bless the Bharatiya Janata Party with a resounding majority in both the Panchayati Raj and local body elections.”
