India Sends 2.5 Tons of Medical Aid to Kabul After Pakistani Airstrike

New Delhi, March 21: In response to the Pakistani airstrike on March 16, India has stepped forward to assist the victims in Kabul, Afghanistan. The Indian government has dispatched 2.5 tons of emergency medical supplies, including medicines, medical disposables, kits, and equipment, to aid those injured in the attack.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has assured Afghanistan of its solidarity during this challenging time. They emphasized that India will continue to provide humanitarian assistance in every possible way.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, the Ministry noted, “India has sent 2.5 tons of emergency medicines, medical disposables, kits, and equipment to assist in the treatment and recovery of those injured in the heinous attack on March 16.”

The Ministry reiterated, “India stands in solidarity with the Afghan people and will continue to provide all possible humanitarian support during this difficult time.”

It is reported that the airstrike on Kabul resulted in the destruction of a hospital, with the Taliban government stating that over 400 people were killed and at least 250 were injured.

According to Taliban officials, the attack occurred around 9 PM, targeting a 2,000-bed hospital. Taliban spokesperson Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat indicated that the strike caused significant devastation throughout the hospital.

The death toll is estimated to be around 400, with more than 250 individuals injured. Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid condemned the incident in a post on the social media platform X.

Following the attack, Richard Bennett, the UN Special Rapporteur, labeled the incident as a “crime against humanity” and called for an immediate independent investigation, along with appropriate compensation for the affected families.

Bennett stated on X, “I support the need for an immediate, independent, and transparent investigation into the airstrike by Pakistan on the center in Kabul. Many lives have been lost and injured in this attack. Those responsible must be held accountable, and victims and their families should receive compensation.”
