Iranian Foreign Minister Criticizes U.S. Claims, Draws Parallels with Vietnam War

New Delhi, March 21: Iranian Foreign Minister Syed Abbas Araghchi has launched a sharp critique against the United States, asserting that there is a significant gap between American claims and the reality on the ground.

He referenced the Vietnam War, accusing the U.S. of employing similar tactics today, where truths were obscured during that conflict. Araghchi warned that if Iran’s infrastructure is attacked, Tehran will respond decisively and without restraint.

The Iranian minister reminded that the U.S. should not forget how, during the Vietnam War, hundreds of American soldiers were dying, and the outcome was already clear. Yet, General William Westmoreland was flown back to assure the public that the war was going well and that America was “winning.”

Araghchi stated that the script remains the same, but the stage has changed; today, figures like Hegseth emerge, yet their messages are still far from reality.

In a post on the social media platform X, he wrote, “The U.S. government says one thing, while the reality is something else.”

He continued, “Just when American officials claim that Iran’s air defenses are finished, an F-35 is shot down. When they announce that Iran’s navy is completely destroyed, the USS Gerald Ford returns, and the USS Abraham Lincoln moves further away.”

Araghchi sarcastically noted that while a decade may have passed, the slogan remains unchanged: “We are winning.”

In another post on X, he emphasized, “We are principled men and women. The Iranian people do not strike their enemies from the shadows during negotiations. We respond forcefully only when we are attacked.”

He also mentioned that Iran possesses intelligence regarding Israel’s plans to attack its infrastructure.

Araghchi reiterated that if there is an attack on Iran’s infrastructure, there will be no restraint in their response.
