India Dominates Afghanistan in Test Match; Gill Scores His Sixth Century as Captain

New Chandigarh, June 7: India has established a strong foothold against Afghanistan in the ongoing Test match at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium. By the end of the first day, Team India scored 368 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, marking the fourth-highest score for a first day of a Test match in India. Captain Shubman Gill also celebrated his sixth century in Test cricket.

The top four highest scores for the first day of a Test match in India belong to Team India. In 2009, India set a record of 417/2 against Sri Lanka on the first day. The same year, they scored 385 runs for the loss of 6 wickets against the same team in Ahmedabad.
