Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations Ignite Festive Spirit in Madhya Pradesh

Shivraj Singh Chouhan leads Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Madhya Pradesh, welcoming the deity with prayers and festivities across the state.

Bhopal, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : The festive spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi has taken hold in Madhya Pradesh, marking the start of celebrations filled with religious fervor. Central Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan performed prayers at his residence in Bhopal, welcoming the idol of Lord Ganesha.

Chouhan, along with his family, greeted the deity, revered as the remover of obstacles. Across the state, homes, temples, and beautifully decorated pavilions hosted special prayers, aartis, and vibrant celebrations.

In a message to the people, Chouhan sought the blessings of Lord Ganesha, wishing for a life free from obstacles for everyone. He expressed, “Today is Ganesh Chaturthi. Lord Ganesha is entering the hearts of people in every village, every city, and across India. May everyone receive His blessings, and may there be no obstacles in anyone’s life.”

He also highlighted the enthusiasm of children and youth participating in the festival, noting that their involvement reflects a deep faith in the Ganesh celebrations. “Seeing our youth, teenagers, and beloved children decorating pavilions, bringing idols home, and engrossed in devotion to Ganapati Bappa fills my heart with reverence,” Chouhan remarked.

In Indore, a large number of devotees flocked to the renowned Khajrana Ganesh Temple for special prayers and darshan. The idol was adorned with gold jewelry worth approximately ₹7 crore. During the Brahma Muhurat on Sunday, diamond-studded eyes were placed on the idol, and 125,000 modaks were offered as prasad.

The historic Bada Ganapati Temple featured a 25-foot tall idol that received a special adornment, with about 101 kilograms of laddus offered. Each evening at 9 PM, a one-hour musical aarti will take place.

At the Chintaman Ganesh Temple in Ujjain, devotees observed a unique tradition where they create an inverted swastika while making a wish. Once their wish is fulfilled, they create a straight swastika. Many also express gratitude by performing ‘tuladaan’ with grains, laddus, and other offerings.

Throughout Madhya Pradesh, the festival has ushered in a wave of aartis, bhajans, and communal celebrations, with devotees seeking Lord Ganesha’s blessings for happiness, prosperity, and the removal of obstacles.
