India and Mongolia Conduct Joint Anti-Terrorism Training in Pithoragarh

Pithoragarh, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : Indian and Mongolian armed forces are currently engaged in a joint military exercise in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. This training event, known as “Nomadic Elephant 2026,” marks the 18th edition of the collaboration and is taking place at the Foreign Training Node in the region.

During the exercise, troops from both nations are honing their combat skills and operational coordination. The primary focus is on anti-terrorism operations in semi-urban and mountainous terrains. Soldiers are being trained to make swift decisions in varied circumstances while maintaining effective teamwork.

The exercise includes a range of tactical drills, along with planning and executing joint operations. Both armies are sharing their experiences and best practices to enhance their capabilities. This edition of Nomadic Elephant goes beyond mere military drills; it fosters a deeper understanding of each other’s operational methods, strengthening mutual trust and professional relationships.

The goal is to improve the ability to conduct operations together, enhance operational synergy, and deepen mutual understanding between the two forces. Joint training in challenging terrains equips both armies for better coordination in real-world scenarios.

This military exercise symbolizes the strong defense ties between India and Mongolia. Through Nomadic Elephant 2026, the two nations are not only sharing experiences but also developing better coordination for future joint operations. Training activities have intensified, with soldiers from both countries sharing insights into combat techniques.

Mongolian troops practiced small arms operations and firing techniques, including weapon handling and safety drills. Meanwhile, Indian soldiers focused on tactics for entering and searching suspected terrorist hideouts, emphasizing teamwork, communication, and the safe evacuation of injured personnel.

Additionally, Mongolian soldiers showcased traditional wrestling techniques and unarmed combat skills, further enhancing camaraderie and friendship between the forces. The exercise will continue until October 3, with 45 soldiers from each country participating. The primary objective remains to strengthen the joint capacity and coordination of both armies for anti-terrorism operations under the United Nations framework in semi-urban and mountainous areas.
