Ghaziabad, June 15: In a significant move, authorities in Ghaziabad’s Loni area demolished an allegedly illegal shrine built on green belt land this past Sunday. The administration was fully prepared for the operation, deploying a substantial police presence to maintain law and order.
The demolition occurred near Gate Number 1 of Tronica City in Loni. Officials stated that the construction was illegally erected on land belonging to the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDC) and designated as green belt.
Prior inspections by UPSIDC confirmed that the area falls under government property and green belt regulations. Based on the investigation report, notices were issued to the responsible parties, instructing them to remove the construction voluntarily. When they failed to comply within the stipulated timeframe, the administration proceeded with the demolition.
During the operation, the entire area was secured, with around 400 to 450 security personnel from the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), Rapid Action Force (RAF), and local police deployed. Strict monitoring was enforced to prevent any disturbances. Senior administrative and police officials were present on-site to oversee the entire process.
DCP Rural Surendranath Tiwari stated that efforts are underway to identify those responsible for the illegal construction, and FIRs will be filed against them. The administration remains committed to taking strict action against illegal encroachments on government land. The demolition was carried out peacefully, with no law and order issues reported. Following the operation, the situation in the area returned to normal, and security measures were maintained as a precaution.
The SDM of Loni emphasized that any permanent or temporary construction in the green belt area is strictly prohibited. The administration has made it clear that encroachments on government and industrial development land will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
