Indore, June 2: At just 15 years old, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has taken the cricket world by storm with his explosive batting. His remarkable talent and outstanding performance in the IPL have earned him recognition on both national and international stages. Now, he is set to become the subject of a significant academic study at IIM Indore.
The institute will conduct extensive research on the factors behind Vaibhav’s success at such a young age and the impact of his achievements.
Himanshu Rai, Director of IIM Indore, stated that Vaibhav’s journey exemplifies how extraordinary talent can yield remarkable results when nurtured in the right environment with proper guidance and opportunities. He emphasized that major achievements are not solely the result of individual effort; family, coaches, social support, and institutional backing play crucial roles as well.
However, Rai acknowledged that early fame and success come with their own set of challenges. He noted that the pressure of expectations, constant opportunities, and scrutiny from social media can significantly affect young talents. According to him, there are numerous global examples where excessive expectations and mental pressure have led talented athletes to face mental fatigue and emotional challenges.
Keeping these factors in mind, IIM Indore plans to conduct a comprehensive study on this topic. The research will analyze the social, psychological, familial, and institutional factors that contribute to the development of young talents who perform exceptionally at an early age. Rai mentioned that experts in leadership, behavioral science, and human potential will collaborate to understand how early success influences the confidence, personal growth, and future direction of young talents.
The aim of this study is not just to analyze the success of a gifted athlete but also to draw conclusions that could guide emerging young talents in the future. Rai added that the goal is to ensure that mental health, emotional balance, and overall development receive equal importance alongside sporting achievements.
