
Bengaluru, August 25: In an exciting Quarter-Final match of the Dalip Trophy at the BCCI Center of Excellence Ground 1, West Zone is just 67 runs away from victory against North Zone but has only 3 wickets left.
After winning the toss, North Zone batted first and was bowled out for 251 runs. They lost 2 wickets for just 45 runs, but Ayush Badoni and Ayush Doseja stabilized the innings with a partnership of 72 runs for the third wicket. Doseja scored 42 runs, while Badoni contributed 51 runs to the total.
Abid Mushtaq, along with Anshul Kamboj, added 48 runs for the eighth wicket, helping the team surpass the double-century mark. Kamboj was the top scorer with 60 runs off 52 balls, including 5 sixes and as many fours. From the opposition, Tanush Kotian and Tushar Deshpande each took 4 wickets.
In response, West Zone struggled in their first innings, managing only 187 runs. Shams Mulani was the top scorer with 52 runs, while Mushir Khan added 31 runs. Abid Mushtaq excelled with the ball, taking 5 wickets for 39 runs, and Arshdeep Singh claimed 3 wickets.
North Zone had a first-innings lead of 76 runs and set a target of 299 runs by scoring 222 runs in their second innings. Ayush Badoni scored 50 runs with 6 fours, and Nishant Sandhu contributed 44 runs. Shams Mulani and Tanush Kotian each took 4 wickets for West Zone.
Chasing the target, West Zone ended the third day with 220 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. They lost 2 wickets for just 28 runs before Mushir Khan took charge. He formed a crucial partnership of 56 runs with Shivalk Sharma and another of 111 runs with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Mushir Khan scored 96 runs with 2 sixes and 8 fours, while Gaikwad added 66 runs. So far, Abid Mushtaq has taken 2 wickets, while Arshdeep Singh, Anshul Kamboj, Nishant Sandhu, and Sunil Kumar have each taken 1 wicket.
