Mumbai, March 24: Huawei has unveiled the Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition, an upgraded version of its flagship model that features active cooling technology. Unlike its predecessor, this model incorporates a small built-in fan designed to maintain optimal performance during extended gaming sessions or demanding tasks.
The fan is cleverly integrated into a redesigned camera module, which boasts a larger circular bump compared to the standard version. Additionally, over 1200 tiny ventilation holes have been added to enhance airflow. Inside, thermal bending fins efficiently direct the airflow. The fan operates dynamically, ramping up during intensive activities and reducing speed during lighter use, ensuring a quieter experience.
Aside from these enhancements, the phone retains its premium metal construction, complemented by second-generation Kunlun glass for added durability. It features a 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED display with LTPO support, capable of scaling from 1Hz to 120Hz. The display also supports 144Hz PWM dimming and a 300Hz touch sampling rate, with peak brightness reaching an impressive 8000 nits in HDR, making it ideal for outdoor use.
Powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro processor and optimized for HarmonyOS 6, the Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition promises fast everyday performance. Huawei highlights features such as satellite messaging and enhanced network speeds.
The camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with a variable aperture, a 40MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens with macro capabilities. For selfies, there’s a 13MP ultra-wide camera paired with a 3D depth sensor.
The device is equipped with a robust 6000mAh battery that supports 100W charging and comes with 16GB of RAM as standard. In China, pricing starts at 8499 yuan for the 512GB model, rising to 9499 yuan for the 1TB variant.
This innovative approach to thermal management may prove beneficial for sustained performance, addressing a common challenge faced by many smartphones today.
