How the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Transformed Rural Womens Lives in Madhya Pradesh

Damoh, August 2: The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has significantly transformed the lives of rural women in Damoh district, Madhya Pradesh. This initiative has brought about notable changes in their health and lifestyle.

Women have found relief from eye irritation, breathing difficulties, and the hassle of cooking for hours over traditional stoves. With the help of LPG gas, they can now prepare meals in less time. This allows children to receive timely meals, while women can also dedicate time to other essential tasks.

Kesar Bai Kevat, a resident of Belhadana village, shared with a news agency that the smoke from traditional cooking caused her eye irritation and infections. Despite ongoing treatment, she has experienced relief since receiving her gas cylinder connection. “We thank the Prime Minister for this change,” she said.

Anita from Padajhir village expressed her happiness about benefiting from the Ujjwala scheme. “Cooking over a traditional stove used to cause smoke and irritation. Now, with the gas cylinder, I can cook without those issues,” she stated.

Bharti Ahirwal from Dhangaur village mentioned that she received her gas connection two years ago through the Ujjwala scheme. “When we refill the gas cylinder, we receive a subsidy of 300 rupees. Cooking with wood used to irritate my eyes due to the smoke. The decisions made by the central government for women’s welfare are truly commendable. I am very grateful to Prime Minister Modi,” she added.
