New Delhi, August 2: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that monsoon conditions persist in the national capital. As a result, cloudy skies and light rain are likely across New Delhi today.
The regional center of IMD in New Delhi has indicated that the sky will remain predominantly overcast with very light rain expected in some areas. Rainfall may occur between morning and afternoon, with a possibility of more rain in certain locations during the night.
Last night, some areas in Delhi recorded rainfall. This morning, the sky was still cloudy, with a temperature of 29 degrees Celsius. However, due to high humidity levels at 87 percent, the heat felt more intense, with a perceived temperature reaching up to 36 degrees Celsius.
The weather department forecasts a maximum temperature of around 34 degrees Celsius during the day, with chances of light rain accompanied by thunder in some areas. Monsoon activity is expected to intensify in the coming days, with predictions of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms throughout the week.
This current weather pattern may provide some relief from the heat, although high humidity could make conditions uncomfortable during rainfall.
Previously, on Saturday, despite light rain in some parts of the city, a slight increase in daytime temperatures was recorded in the national capital.
At the Safdarjung weather station in Delhi, the maximum temperature was noted at 35 degrees Celsius, which is 0.6 degrees above the seasonal average and equal to the previous day’s temperature. The minimum temperature recorded was 27.9 degrees Celsius, which is 0.8 degrees above normal and 0.7 degrees lower than Friday’s temperature.
At other weather monitoring centers, Palam recorded a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius, which is 0.5 degrees higher than the previous day. This center also noted a minimum temperature of 25.6 degrees Celsius, which is 0.2 degrees lower than the minimum temperature recorded the day before.
