On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Hindustan Zinc Limited — the world’s largest and India’s only integrated producer of zinc and silver — launched its internal wellness campaign #WeHearTheQuiet. The initiative aims to foster open dialogue, emotional support, and psychological safety in the workplace, reaching over 3,500 employees across the country.

With this thoughtful campaign, Hindustan Zinc reinforces its strong commitment to making mental health an integral part of employee safety and professional growth. In today’s fast-paced work environment, the company emphasizes the importance of pausing, listening, and creating a culture where even the quietest concerns are heard and addressed with care.
To mark the launch, Hindustan Zinc introduced a three-day digital teaser series on its social media platforms, culminating in the release of the #WeHearTheQuiet film on October 10. The film highlights how silence at workplaces can often hide unseen challenges. Through this campaign, the company aims to sustain the conversation throughout October, encouraging employees, partners, and communities to openly discuss mental health and support one another with empathy and awareness.
In line with the performance expectations of the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), Hindustan Zinc has introduced several holistic wellness initiatives — including health tracker charts, healing sound bowls, and confidential online counselling sessions. A special Digital Detox Hour will also be organized to encourage employees to relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect through walks, conversations, and coffee breaks.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc, said, “At Hindustan Zinc, safety has always been our top priority — not just physical, but also emotional and psychological. #WeHearTheQuiet reflects our belief that true strength lies in empathy. It reminds us to pause and listen — to others and to ourselves. Through this campaign, we aim to ensure every employee feels supported and safe to express themselves.”
Over the past three years, Hindustan Zinc has strengthened its employee well-being ecosystem with initiatives such as the Employee Assistance Programme, Wellness Leave, Parenthood and Adoption Policy, Flexible Working Hours, and No Questions Asked Leave. The company’s people-first approach and focus on inclusivity and holistic well-being have earned it global recognition, including the Great Place to Work® certification.
By choosing to #HearTheQuiet, Hindustan Zinc continues to shape a workplace culture that values every voice and promotes a safe, ethical, and inclusive environment for all.
