New Delhi, March 17: The Ministry of Defense is gearing up for a significant event. The ‘National Defense Industries Conclave 2026’ aims to promote the manufacturing of indigenous defense equipment. This conclave will take place at the Manekshaw Center in New Delhi on March 19 and 20.
This event will help establish a robust framework for manufacturing defense equipment in India. Special emphasis will be placed on connecting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to the defense sector, enabling them to participate in defense manufacturing.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the conclave will focus on new and advanced technologies, with the theme being ‘Advanced Manufacturing Technologies.’ Key areas of interest include artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, 3D printing (additive manufacturing), and smart materials.
The government aims for India’s defense industry to progress using high-tech and indigenous technologies rather than traditional methods. The event will not only host government officials but also private companies, defense public sector units (PSUs), startups, scientists, tech experts, and academics from higher education institutions and universities.
Discussions will revolve around how India can achieve complete self-reliance in the defense sector and strengthen its global position. A large exhibition will showcase new technologies and products from both Indian and international companies.
Additionally, new challenges will be launched for startups and SMEs to bring innovative ideas and solutions to the defense sector. This conclave serves as a platform for government, industry, and technical experts to collaborate on accelerating, modernizing, and achieving self-reliance in India’s defense manufacturing.
