Bhopal, August 11 – The eastern part of Madhya Pradesh, including Jabalpur, Rewa, and Sagar divisions, is set to receive heavy rainfall on Monday, according to the Meteorological Department. Ten districts in these regions may see intense showers due to active trough conditions, while Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain will experience clear skies and bright sunshine.
Over the next 24 hours, heavy rainfall is expected in Panna, Satna, Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, Maihar, Katni, Jabalpur, Seoni, and Balaghat. A warning for heavy rainfall in eastern Madhya Pradesh has also been issued for August 12.

New System Likely After Two Days
A low-pressure area is expected to form over the Bay of Bengal from August 13, which could trigger widespread heavy rains across the state. Currently, rainfall activity is limited to a few districts.
Meteorologist Arun Sharma said that heavy rainfall is likely in several districts over the next three days, with rainfall activity intensifying from August 13–14. “The second half of August is expected to see a sustained spell of heavy rain,” he added.
Rainfall Outlook for August
Experts predict that the heavy rain spell starting in the second week of August will continue till the month’s end, likely fulfilling the state’s rainfall quota within August itself. While Gwalior and nine other districts have already met their quota, Indore and Ujjain divisions are still lagging.
So far, eastern Madhya Pradesh — including Jabalpur, Sagar, Shahdol, and Rewa divisions — has received 37% above-average rainfall, while the western part — including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Chambal, and Narmadapuram divisions — has recorded 25% above-average rainfall.
