Hearing Scheduled Today in Jabalpur High Court Regarding Rahul Gandhis Remarks

Jabalpur, June 25: The Jabalpur High Court is set to hear a defamation petition filed against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today. This petition arises from remarks made by Gandhi about the family of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan during a Lok Sabha session.

In the 2018 assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi mentioned the name of Karthikeya Singh Chouhan, the son of the then Chief Minister, in connection with the Panama Papers case. Following this, Karthikeya filed a defamation suit in the MP MLA Court in Bhopal, which resulted in a summons being issued. Subsequently, Gandhi’s legal team approached the Jabalpur High Court.

In the plea to quash the summons, Gandhi’s advocates, including Vivek Krishna Tankha, Ajay Gupta, Rajeev Mishra, and Aishwarya Sahu, will present their arguments. On the other side, Karthikeya Singh Chouhan’s lawyer, Sankalp Kochhar, will argue his case.

Rahul Gandhi has expressed regret over his statement, admitting that he mistakenly mentioned Karthikeya Singh Chouhan’s name. The court has requested a response from Karthikeya regarding this matter.
