Ramban, July 15: The Health Department has set up extensive medical arrangements in Ramban district to ensure the safety and convenience of pilgrims during the ongoing Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir. Medical camps, mini hospitals, and 24-hour health services are available at key locations along the pilgrimage route, including Chanderkot and Lamber. Thousands of pilgrims are benefiting from free medical treatment, medications, and essential diagnostic services.
An official from the Health Department reported that over 5,000 patients have received treatment at the mini hospital established in Lamber. A dedicated team of doctors and medical staff is on duty around the clock, providing free consultations, medications, and essential tests such as blood pressure monitoring.
The official noted that not only in Lamber but also at other medical centers like Chanderkot, a significant number of pilgrims have sought treatment. The department aims to ensure that every critical stop along the pilgrimage route has sufficient doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, and ambulances available to address any emergencies promptly. Additionally, helpline numbers and essential information are displayed at all health centers.
Narayan Saipatta, a pilgrim from Khargone in Madhya Pradesh, praised the health services, sharing that he experienced stomach issues during the journey. Upon reaching the medical camp, doctors conducted immediate examinations, provided medications, and ensured complete treatment. He emphasized that all services are entirely free, which greatly relieves the pilgrims.
Dheeraj, another pilgrim from Nagpur in Maharashtra, mentioned feeling fatigued after visiting the Amarnath shrine. He learned about the free medical services from the Health Department near the CRPF base camp. He noted that upon arriving at the hospital, he received facilities comparable to private hospitals. The behavior of the doctors and medical staff was commendable, and treatment was provided without any charges.
Another pilgrim commended the government’s arrangements, stating that medical facilities are readily available along the pilgrimage route. He explained that whenever a traveler faces health issues, a team of doctors promptly begins treatment and provides necessary medications for free. This instills a sense of confidence and security among the pilgrims during their journey.
