Jammu, July 15: The Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Praveer Ranjan, arrived in Jammu to conduct a thorough inspection of the security measures for the Amarnath Yatra 2026. He was accompanied by senior officials during this review.
During the visit, Ranjan assessed the security along the pilgrimage route, medical facilities, fire safety, logistical arrangements, and coordination among various agencies to ensure a completely safe, smooth, and convenient journey for the devotees.
The Director General inspected the Bhagwati Nagar base camp, the Joint Police Control Room, the CCTV Control Room, and the Tawi River Front. He interacted with the security personnel on-site to evaluate their preparedness. Additionally, he spoke with pilgrims to gather information about their safety and comfort arrangements.
While reviewing the on-ground security measures, Praveer Ranjan emphasized the need for officials and personnel to remain vigilant at all times, be prepared to handle any situation, and maintain better coordination among all relevant agencies.
Following this, the CISF Director General chaired a high-level security review meeting. Senior officials from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Jammu and Kashmir Police, Intelligence Bureau, Indian Army, and other key agencies associated with the pilgrimage attended the meeting.
During the discussion, they focused on the current security arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra, coordination among various agencies, and preparations to handle emergency situations. The Director General praised the commitment, professionalism, and mutual coordination of all security forces.
He expressed confidence that all security agencies would continue to work together, ensuring that the Amarnath Yatra 2026 proceeds safely, peacefully, smoothly, and without any incidents.
