
Belfast, June 28: Harry Tector has become the third youngest player from a full-member nation to score a century in T20 international matches. He achieved this remarkable feat at the age of 26 years and 304 days during the second match of the T20 series against India.
Leading the list is Pakistan’s Shadab Khan, who accomplished this milestone at 25 years and 239 days. Another Pakistani player, Shaheen Afridi, reached his 100th T20 international match at 25 years and 310 days.
On Sunday, after losing the toss at the Civil Service Cricket Club, the Irish team batted first and scored 154 runs, losing 8 wickets. Ireland faced early trouble, losing 3 wickets for just 48 runs. However, Tector stabilized the innings with Benjamin Kalitz, adding 65 runs for the fourth wicket in just 43 balls.
Kalitz contributed 37 runs off 23 balls, hitting 2 sixes and 3 fours. The team struggled further, losing 5 wickets for 113 runs. Tector then partnered with George Dockrell, adding 31 runs for the sixth wicket, helping the team reach a competitive total. Harry Tector scored 53 runs off 47 balls, hitting 6 boundaries, while Dockrell added 19 runs. For India, Prince Yadav was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets, while Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Dubey claimed 2 wickets each, and Harshit Rana took 1 wicket.
