Gujarats Road to Infinity Set to Transform Kutchs Development and Tourism

Bhuj, March 22: The Kutch region in Gujarat is witnessing significant transformation. Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, a 22-kilometer paved road is being constructed, stretching from Ekla to Bambhanka. This project, named ‘Road to Infinity,’ is being developed at a cost of ₹140 crores and aims to benefit over 12,000 residents across 12 villages in the Khadir Bet area.

Previously, locals had to travel over 150 kilometers to reach the Bhachau taluka headquarters. With the new road, this distance will be reduced to just 75 to 80 kilometers.

Local resident Hardeep Singh Jadeja noted that there are 11 villages in the Khadir area. The journey to Rapar or Bhachau used to require covering 180 kilometers. With the new road, this distance has been cut down to 70 kilometers, saving both time and fuel. This road will prove to be extremely beneficial.

The road will also pass by the historic Hanuman Bet, shaped like a turtle, which houses the ancient Raniweshwar Hanuman Temple. Additionally, it runs near Asia’s largest flamingo breeding ground, known as Flamingo City. The completion of this road will facilitate pilgrims visiting the Raniweshwar Hanuman Temple and allow tourists to witness the migratory flamingos that arrive in large numbers during the winter season.

Mahant Yogi Devanath of the Raniweshwar Hanuman Temple stated that the construction of the Ekla-Bambhanka road will boost tourism and promote development in the Khadir Bet area. It will also enable the military to reach the border more efficiently.

Tourist Anees Sheikh shared that they come to observe the migratory birds. The area has been well-developed, and the new road has significantly reduced travel time from 300 kilometers to just 150 kilometers.

The ‘Road to Infinity’ will not only accelerate the socio-economic development of Khadir Bet residents but also provide an alternative route for tourists heading to the archaeological site of Dholavira.

Iqbal Topiwala, the executive engineer of the Bhuj district panchayat, mentioned that residents of Khadir Bet frequently travel to Bhachau for work. The new road will enhance their social development and promote tourism. While the ‘Road to Heaven’ already existed, the ‘Road to Infinity’ will facilitate easier access for those visiting the archaeological site of Dholavira.

For over five decades, the people of Khadir Bet have been demanding improved road connectivity. The ‘Road to Infinity’ will aid in accessing Narmada and other water sources. Overall, this project is expected to foster comprehensive development in Kutch’s Khadir Bet and strengthen the local economy through increased tourist traffic.
