Ahmedabad, May 19: The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) announced significant changes to several premium AC bus services on Monday. This initiative aims to enhance travel convenience and reduce costs for passengers, following directives from the Deputy Chief Minister.
Under the new arrangement, all premium AC buses operating between Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar will now traverse the newly constructed Ahmedabad-Dholera Express Highway.
According to the corporation, this route modification is expected to decrease travel time and operational expenses. A portion of these savings will be passed on to passengers through reduced fares.
The revised schedule includes a total of 24 buses operating every hour between 5 AM and 6 PM, utilizing the expressway in both directions.
Services on the Gandhinagar-Diu and Gandhinagar-Mahuva routes have also been integrated into this corridor. With the route changes, the fare for the Ahmedabad-Bhavnagar journey has been reduced to ₹336, allowing passengers to save approximately ₹15 on each trip.
In another significant update, GSRTC has launched a new Volvo service on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. This service operates as a non-stop premium option between Nehrunagar (Ahmedabad) and Surat. The bus will depart from Nehrunagar at 6:45 AM, with the return trip from Surat scheduled for 1:00 PM.
The fare for this new route is set at ₹687, offering passengers an estimated savings of ₹61 compared to previous services.
The corporation stated that the introduction of these services on the expressway network aims to improve connectivity between major cities in Gujarat and reduce travel times by leveraging the country’s superior infrastructure.
All tickets for these services can be booked online in advance via the GSRTC official website and mobile app. The corporation encourages passengers to utilize these digital platforms for booking and to take advantage of the new premium services.
