
Ahmedabad, May 10: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel participated in the idol consecration festival at the Shri Sanatan Ramdham Temple located in the Thaltej area of Ahmedabad on Sunday. This event marked the conclusion of a ten-day religious celebration following the temple’s renovation, which is nearly 90 years old.
During his visit, the Chief Minister paid homage to the newly installed Shri Ram Darbar and other deities within the temple. According to officials, he also took part in the Maha Aarti and prayed for the welfare, prosperity, and peace of the people of Gujarat.
The abhishek ceremony symbolized the completion of renovation and development works at the temple, supported by the Holy Pilgrimage Development Board and contributions from donors. Organizers described the temple as a long-term center for devotion and Sanatan values in Ahmedabad.
Patel participated in rituals conducted in the sanctum sanctorum, accompanied by saints and priests, amidst Vedic chants and scriptures. On the final day of the festival, a large number of devotees gathered, filling the temple premises with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Shri Ram Dhun.”
Former Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel was also present at the ceremony. Several religious leaders and saints, including Dilipdas Maharaj, Mohandas Maharaj, and Rajendra Prasad Shastri, attended the event.
Trustees, donors, local leaders, and a significant number of devotees were present during the closing ceremony. According to organizers, a series of religious programs, prayers, and rituals were held over the past ten days as part of the idol consecration festival.
On the final day, special worship ceremonies took place, where saints and devotees participated, leading the Maha Aarti in the presence of the Chief Minister. No formal public addresses or official statements were issued during the event; the focus remained on the religious rituals and customs related to the installation of the idols in the renovated temple complex.
