Grand Preparations at ISKCON Temple for Janmashtami Celebration

New Delhi, August 24: Preparations are in full swing at the renowned ISKCON Temple in New Delhi ahead of the Janmashtami celebrations. Located in East of Kailash, the temple is being adorned for the festivities scheduled for September 4. This year, the decorations will feature a peacock theme, along with an offering of 1008 dishes and stringent security measures.

Brijnandan Das, the vice president of ISKCON Temple, shared, “Janmashtami will be celebrated with great enthusiasm at the ISKCON temple in East of Kailash. ISKCON celebrates Janmashtami worldwide. This year, the decoration will be beautifully themed around peacocks. The temple premises will also be lavishly decorated.”

He further explained, “Special fruits and flowers are being imported from Thailand and Bengaluru for the decorations, as they last longer and do not wilt quickly. The temple will be made attractive with flowers and lights.”

Regarding security arrangements, Brijnandan Das stated, “This year, security measures are robust. The ISKCON management is fully prepared. A total of 1200 security guards will be deployed, with 600 on duty in each shift. Additionally, 500 police personnel will be present. The Delhi Police is providing full support, and fire brigade vehicles will also be on-site. Special arrangements have been made for the convenience of visitors. Donors and VIP devotees will enter through Gate Number 7 from the Lotus Temple side. Adequate parking arrangements have also been made. After the darshan, everyone will receive prasad. General public entry will be through Gate Number 1.”

Brijnandan Das emphasized, “ISKCON wishes for all devotees to have a loving experience while seeking the blessings of the Lord. When they exit, they should receive prasad. A variety of 1008 dishes will be prepared as offerings. The kitchen will start preparing these dishes early in the morning.”

On the schedule for Janmashtami day, he mentioned, “Gates will open at 4 PM, and the curtain will be drawn at 4:30 PM for the Mangala Aarti. Even before that, thousands of people begin to line up. The decoration Aarti will take place at 7:30 AM, and kirtan will continue throughout the day in the temple hall.”
