Mumbai, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : Gold and silver prices saw a notable increase on Wednesday in Mumbai, driven by rising demand for safe investments amid growing global instability.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the gold contract for October 5, 2026, opened at ₹152,120 per 10 grams, slightly down from the previous closing price of ₹152,579 per 10 grams. In the international market, gold traded at $4,430 per ounce, down 0.18%, while silver was priced at $67 per ounce, up 0.26%. Analysts suggest that heightened global tensions are driving the demand for safe-haven assets like gold and silver. However, concerns over inflation data in the U.S. are keeping investors cautious, which may limit further price increases.
Looking ahead, fluctuations in gold and silver prices are expected to continue until the Federal Reserve’s upcoming meeting next week.
