Patna, May 31: Union Minister Giriraj Singh has taken a firm stance against former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD leader Rabri Devi for not vacating her government residence located at 10 Circular Road. He emphasized that the law applies equally to everyone.
Speaking to reporters, Singh stated, “The law is the same for everyone. Anyone who does not comply with the law will face legal action, whether it is Rabri Devi or anyone else.”
In response to the attack on TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, Singh claimed that Banerjee did not sustain any serious injuries. He dismissed the incident as a drama, pointing out that hundreds of Hindus were attacked during TMC’s rule.
BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala also commented on the attack, asserting that the BJP does not support any form of violence, chanting, or unpleasant incidents.
He said, “I listened to statements from all senior BJP leaders on Saturday. No one supported violence or disruption, as it is not in the BJP’s nature. If something wrong has happened, the law will take its course, and arrests will be made. Please provide any facts or evidence you have. Swift action will follow the investigation. However, it cannot be denied that there is considerable anger among the people.”
Kolkata BJP spokesperson Kiyaa Ghosh remarked on the attack on Abhishek Banerjee, noting that police were present at the scene. She questioned, “How many police officers do we need to ensure the safety of an MP? They have become accustomed to taking 500 police officers with them when going out. Now that the government has changed, the police will do what they are supposed to do, which is to maintain law and order in West Bengal. The police are not there for the protection of such MPs.”
She added that since the TMC government is no longer in power, security will be provided based on necessity, and no one will receive security without a valid reason.
