New Delhi, February 24: BJP National Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia held a press conference at the BJP headquarters on Tuesday, targeting the Congress party. He commented on the arrest of Uday Bhanu Chib, the National President of the Indian Youth Congress, claiming that Rahul Gandhi orchestrated this plot to embarrass India.
Bhatia stated, “The conspiracy Rahul Gandhi devised to disgrace and defame India is now being unveiled layer by layer. It is not incorrect to say that Rahul Gandhi is shaming the nation, and in his attempts to do so, he is becoming increasingly exposed. Neither Shaheed Bhagat Singh nor Mahatma Gandhi would have imagined that Congress workers would compare themselves to them.”
He further remarked, “Rahul Gandhi’s so-called shop of love contains only shamelessness. Today’s significant news is that Uday Bhanu is the president of the Congress party’s youth wing. At a time when the world’s attention is on India during the AI Summit, he tarnished the country’s image with his actions.”
Bhatia noted that Uday Bhanu’s arrest was confirmed, and the Delhi police had sought a seven-day police remand from the court. Considering all the facts, the court has now granted four days of police custody. “Rahul Gandhi, you wanted to tarnish India’s image. Today, you have politically diminished yourself. You often display the Constitution, but have you ever read it?” he questioned.
The National Spokesperson emphasized, “Article 19(2) of the Indian Constitution clearly states that the government can impose reasonable restrictions on the freedom of speech in the interests of public order, decency, or morality. During an event attended by prominent leaders from across the globe, Congress attempted to damage the country’s image under the guise of protest. They were arrested, and the court has now granted four days of custody.”
Bhatia concluded by stating that while Rahul Gandhi aims to embarrass India, the circumstances have turned embarrassing for him. It is unfortunate that a leader of the opposition misunderstands the true meaning of freedom of speech. Without Rahul Gandhi’s support, Uday Bhanu would likely lack the courage to protest in this manner. If Rahul Gandhi has no faith in the citizens of India and the Constitution, it raises serious concerns about his commitment to democratic politics.
He added, “We have all witnessed how the AI Summit showcases India as a bridge, with the world recognizing India’s significance. During the 2023 G20 Summit, the world acknowledged that if there is a country that embodies global unity, it is India. The Congress party and Rahul Gandhi never seem to appreciate the pride of the nation; they only seek to defame it.”
