
New Delhi, March 31: Today marks the celebration of Mahavir Jayanti, honoring the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism, Lord Mahavir. Various events are being organized across the country to commemorate this occasion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his warm wishes to the citizens on Mahavir Jayanti. Additionally, he will participate in a special event in Gujarat today to celebrate this significant day.
In a post on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi expressed, “Heartfelt greetings on the auspicious occasion of Lord Mahavir’s birth anniversary. The life and teachings of Lord Mahavir continue to illuminate the path of truth, non-violence, and compassion. His ideals are spiritually uplifting and remain highly relevant even today. His emphasis on equality and kindness reminds us of our shared responsibilities towards society.”
In another message, he stated, “The teachings of Lord Mahavir, rooted in truth, harmony, good conduct, and equality, offer remarkable inspiration. His profound thoughts will always guide humanity. श्रूयतां धर्मसर्वस्वं श्रुत्वा चैवावधार्यताम्. आत्मनः प्रतिकूलानि परेषां न समाचरेत्॥”
Today, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Samrat Samprati Museum located at the Koba Tirth in Gandhinagar. This museum, named after Samrat Samprati, the grandson of Emperor Ashoka and a revered figure in Jain history, comprises seven sections, each dedicated to a unique aspect of India’s civilizational heritage.
The Prime Minister also shared some glimpses of the museum on social media, stating, “Here are some glimpses of the Samrat Samprati Museum at Koba Tirth, which will be inaugurated today. May the thoughts of Lord Mahavir continue to empower and inspire humanity.”
According to the Prime Minister, “This museum not only preserves our heritage but also showcases the lasting impact of exemplary Jain culture and society.”
Following the museum’s inauguration, Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the Caynes Semiconductor Plant located in Sanand, Ahmedabad. This plant is expected to be a significant milestone for India’s semiconductor sector. Prime Minister Modi remarked on social media platform X, “This will further accelerate India’s efforts to become a semiconductor hub. It will encourage India to achieve self-reliance in high-tech manufacturing.”
