Chandigarh, August 6: A shocking incident unfolded in Haryana’s Dadri, where a brazen shooting occurred outside a police station on Thursday. Seven individuals traveling in a car were injured in the daylight attack.
Initially, police suspect that the incident is linked to gang rivalry. The assailants, who fired at least 30 rounds, have not yet been identified. Disturbingly, three of the attackers fled the scene on foot, brandishing revolvers.
A video of the incident has emerged, showing the injured individuals inside a bullet-riddled SUV. They have been referred to PGI Rohtak in critical condition. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
Witnesses reported that the gunfire erupted suddenly, causing panic among pedestrians. The sound of gunfire spread fear throughout the area. Upon receiving the alert, police arrived promptly and transported the injured to the civil hospital in Charkhi Dadri.
After receiving initial treatment, all seven victims were referred to PGI Rohtak due to their serious injuries. The injured have been identified as Ankit from Charkhi Dadri, Kirtiman from Hisar, Suraj and Ankit from Bhiwani, Sunny from Hisar, Krishna from Mahendragarh, and Amit from Fatehgarh.
A forensic team has collected evidence from the scene. Investigating officers stated that they are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby cameras to identify the attackers.
Preliminary investigations revealed that three assailants arrived on a motorcycle. They forced the Scorpio vehicle to stop by blocking its path and then opened fire.
The shooting caused chaos and confusion at the scene. Following the incident, the Superintendent of Police and other senior officials arrived promptly. The police have cordoned off the area. Evidence collected by the forensic team, including shell casings and other crucial clues, is currently being analyzed.
