Jaipur, 16 November (Daily Kiran) — The Pratap Nagar Police have solved the recent kidnapping of a businessman by arresting three armed criminals. During interrogation, police discovered that the mastermind behind the abduction was none other than the victim’s own friend, who allegedly paid a ₹20 lakh contract to get him kidnapped due to a financial dispute.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Sanjeev Nain said that the arrested accused include the mastermind Surendra Chaudhary alias Fauji and his two masked associates. Surendra, who operates mini buses on Route No. 55, was once good friends with the victim, who works in the tours and travel business. The victim had even helped Surendra buy buses and stood as guarantor for him. However, financial disputes soured their friendship, leading to hostility.

Police said Surendra planned the kidnapping to demand ₹50 lakh ransom. He arranged illegal weapons and roped in criminals to execute the plan. The gang first attempted the abduction on 8 November, but failed. On 10 November, they kidnapped the businessman while he was stepping out for daily bus collection work.

How the Police Traced the Accused
The victim’s brother informed Station House Officer Rajendra Kumar Sharma, who formed a special team including SI Hoshiyar Singh, Head Constables Dashrath and Gaurav, and Constables Shankar, Ganesh and Narendra Singh. Using mobile location tracking, the team pursued the accused.

Seeing the police closing in, the kidnappers threw the businessman out of a moving car near ISKCON Temple in Muhana and fled. Based on the location trail, police raided an abandoned forest area behind the UDB building in Pratap Nagar on Saturday night and caught the accused.

The police recovered loaded country-made pistols and cartridges from the suspects. While trying to escape, the criminals slipped into a drain and suffered severe leg injuries. They were rescued and admitted to RUHS Hospital for treatment.

Following interrogation of the arrested criminals, police also detained mastermind Surendra Chaudhary, who had instructed his associates not to contact him on his mobile phone to avoid being tracked.
