Xiongan, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : The Future Industry Innovation and Development Conference took place on September 30, 2026, in Xiongan New Area, located in northern China’s Hebei Province. Themed “Leading New Quality, The Future Has Arrived: Jointly Creating a New Model of High-Quality Development,” the event brought together representatives from politics, business, and education to discuss emerging trends in future industries and outline new pathways for quality growth.
Wang Qinmin, director of the Chinese National E-Governance Expert Committee, emphasized the importance of developing future industries as vital for creating quality productive forces and advancing a modern industrial system. He expressed hope that the conference would facilitate consensus on ideas, promote practical cooperation, and transform innovative concepts into tangible productive capabilities.
Hebei Province Governor Wang Chengfu highlighted the region’s efforts to capitalize on development opportunities by expanding new application scenarios and implementing policies such as the “AI+” work plan. He noted that these initiatives are fostering significant growth in future industries. Under the “14th Five-Year Plan” (2026-2030), Hebei aims to strengthen the coordinated development of industries like aerospace information, satellite internet, AI, and new materials, while also building innovation platforms to attract resources to enterprises.
Lyu Yansong, the chief editor of Xinhua News Agency, remarked on the powerful wave of technological innovation driving future industries in Xiongan New Area. He stated that Xinhua would leverage its global network, information collection, dissemination, and reach to create a favorable environment for the development of future industries, alongside providing better information services.
During the conference, three significant innovative outcomes were released: the “Future Industry Development Initiative (2026),” the “Global Experience Index for Future Industries (2026),” and the “Future Industry Development Overview (2026).”
The event was organized by Xinhua.com, with the Hebei branch and the Xinhua.com Low-Altitude Economy Research Institute co-hosting it. Following the opening ceremony, discussions were held on topics such as the commercial space industry ecosystem, digital intelligence economy, AI innovation, new materials, green energy development, and the integration of culture, tourism, sports, business, and exhibitions.
