Foundation Stone for MSME Technology Center to be Laid in Gaya on June 15

New Delhi, June 14: The foundation stone for the MSME Technology Center in Gaya, Bihar, will be laid on June 15. This center aims to transform the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) landscape in South Bihar and the Magadh region, with a total investment of ₹170 crores. This information was provided by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises on Sunday.

The inauguration ceremony will be attended by Jitan Ram Manjhi, the Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary.

According to the ministry, the MSME Technology Center will be constructed in Khijarsarai, Gaya. Of the total budget, approximately ₹86 crores will be allocated for civil construction, while ₹84 crores will be spent on plant and machinery.

The center will be developed on 20 acres of land provided by the state government. It will cover an area of about 16,800 square meters and will include a production block, training block, utility block, administrative block, multipurpose hall, hostel, and staff accommodation. This center will cater to the needs of key sectors such as general engineering, heavy engineering, and textile testing, fulfilling the requirements of MSMEs and industries in the region.

The ministry further stated that this center will serve MSMEs in Gaya, Aurangabad, Nawada, Nalanda, Jehanabad, and Munger districts. It will provide advanced manufacturing technologies, a skilled workforce ready for industry, and essential technical and business advisory services to help them expand, innovate, and compete globally.

The government has indicated that the MSME ministry is operating a nationwide network of technology centers and extension centers to promote a conducive environment and enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs. Over the years, these centers have played a crucial role in developing indigenous capabilities and advancing the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. In addition to promoting MSMEs, these centers align with the Indian government’s vision for a self-reliant and globally competitive manufacturing ecosystem, advancing national goals for technological self-sufficiency and sustainable industrial development.
