Former Andhra Pradesh MLA Arrested in Land Grab Case in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, June 5: Former MLA and YSR Congress Party leader Bola Brahma Naidu has been arrested in connection with an alleged conspiracy to illegally occupy government land valued at approximately ₹1,000 crores. He was apprehended by Cyberabad police in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, after the Telangana High Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea.

According to police, the case involves 10 acres of government land located in Survey No. 18 in the Gandipet area. Allegations suggest that fake government orders, counterfeit revenue records, and other forged documents were created to illegally claim this land.

The investigation began on May 23 when the Tehsildar of Gandipet, N. Srinivas Reddy, filed a complaint at the Narsingi police station. Subsequently, the Narsingi police and the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Cyberabad police launched an inquiry, leading to the arrest of several suspects, including members of the Nimmal family, Radhakrishna, and his driver Praveen Kumar.

The investigation revealed that Bola Brahma Naidu, along with Bola Ramesh, Radhakrishna, and some members of the Nimmal family, conspired to seize government land. They allegedly prepared fake government orders, counterfeit documents, and forged records.

Police investigations also uncovered that around ₹12 crores were involved in financial transactions related to this alleged conspiracy. According to investigative agencies, ₹4 crores were given to the Nimmal family, ₹4 crores to Radhakrishna, and ₹4 crores to other related individuals.

It is alleged that this money was used to establish illegal rights over the land through forged documents and fake government approvals.

The police stated that given the seriousness of the case, the status of the investigation, and the available prima facie evidence, the High Court denied Brahma Naidu’s bail plea. Following this, a joint operation led to his arrest in Kanchipuram.

Currently, Brahma Naidu is in police custody and will be presented in court as part of the legal process. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the financial transactions, preparation of fake documents, misuse of government officials’ names and signatures, and the roles of other potential suspects involved in the case.
