Final Match of Duleep Trophy Scheduled in Chennai, Confirms BCCI Secretary Devjeet Saikia

New Delhi, August 20: The final match of the Duleep Trophy will take place from September 6 to 10, as confirmed by Devjeet Saikia, Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The prestigious final will be hosted at the MA Chidambaram Cricket Stadium in Chennai.

In a conversation with reporters, Saikia stated, “I won’t say we are changing the final venue. However, we are indeed conducting the Duleep Trophy final match at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. The remaining matches will be held at the BCCI Center of Excellence (COE) ground in Bengaluru. Due to certain government restrictions, spectators will not be allowed in Bengaluru, which is why the final match will be in Chennai.”

Regarding the broadcast of the matches, Saikia added, “All matches will be aired live on both digital channels and linear TV. Those who wish to watch the final live can attend the match at the stadium in Chennai.”

The first quarter-final match will be played between the East Zone and North East Zone starting August 23, followed by the second quarter-final between the North Zone and West Zone on the same day.

Both semi-final matches are scheduled to take place on August 30. This year, the Central Zone will defend its title, having won the Duleep Trophy in 2025 by defeating the South Zone by six wickets in a one-sided match.

Under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar, the team performed exceptionally throughout the tournament. Rajat scored a century in the first innings, while Yash Rathod made an impressive 194 runs. In bowling, Saransh Jain showcased his talent by taking a total of eight wickets in the match.
