
Ballia, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : A late-night altercation in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, turned deadly when one young man was fatally stabbed. The incident, which occurred on September 11, involved two brothers, one of whom was killed, while the other sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Local police swiftly responded to the scene, detaining three suspects connected to the attack. According to reports, the stabbing took place in the village of Sonadiha (Doth) within the jurisdiction of the Ubhav police station. The brothers were attacked by a family member over a dispute, leading to both sustaining injuries. They were initially taken to the Community Health Center in Ubhav and later referred to a hospital in Mau for advanced care.
Tragically, one of the brothers, identified as Amresh, succumbed to his injuries during treatment. His sibling, Manjesh Singh, was subsequently transferred to BHU in Varanasi for further medical attention.
Initial investigations revealed that the altercation began when Ramkaran Singh, a relative of the victims, engaged in a verbal confrontation. When Amresh and Manjesh attempted to de-escalate the situation, Ramkaran and his family members launched a violent attack on the brothers.
Dinesh Kumar Shukla, the Additional Superintendent of Police in Ballia, confirmed that the attackers included Ramkaran Singh, his father Girish Singh, his brother Suraj Singh, and their mother and sister. Following the incident, a formal complaint was filed by Amresh’s daughter, leading to the registration of a case under relevant sections of the law.
Three of the five identified suspects have been taken into custody, while police have formed three teams to apprehend the remaining two individuals involved in the incident. Legal proceedings are expected to follow shortly.
