New Delhi, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : Delhi police have made a significant arrest in an operation against illegal alcohol supply, apprehending one suspect in the Bhati Mines area. The operation took place on September 11, where authorities seized 1,050 quarters of illicit liquor packed in 21 cartons from a car.
The police team at Bhati Mines received a tip-off regarding the illegal liquor distribution. Acting on this information, officers from the Maidan Garhi police station set up a trap near the Aloo Mod near Sanjay Colony in Bhati Mines. The operation was led by Inspector Prahlad Singh, with supervision from ACP Yogita Sharma.
During the operation, a Swift car approached the area. When police signaled the driver to stop, he attempted to flee. However, the alert officers quickly apprehended him. The suspect was identified as 25-year-old Ajay, a resident of Sanjay Colony in Bhati Mines.
Upon searching the vehicle, police discovered 21 cartons containing the illegal alcohol. Ajay reportedly revealed during questioning that he had transported the liquor from the Gwal Pahadi area in Gurugram, intending to deliver it to a person named ‘Sansi’ in Sanjay Colony and Rajpur Khurd. Police also seized the Swift car used for the delivery, which was registered under the name of Prashant, alias Vikram, a Gurugram resident.
An FIR has been filed at the Maidan Garhi police station. Authorities are now working to trace the original source of the alcohol and locate the intended recipient. Investigations are also underway into the vehicle owner and the broader network involved in this illegal operation. Notably, records indicate that Ajay has been involved in a previous case registered at the Kalkaji police station.
