Mumbai, July 19: A tragic accident occurred on Saturday in Basti district, Uttar Pradesh, where a bus and a car collided head-on on the National Highway. The impact was severe, resulting in the car being completely wrecked. Unfortunately, two individuals lost their lives in this incident.
Chaos ensued at the scene following the crash. Bystanders quickly initiated rescue efforts and alerted the police. Upon receiving the information, PRB 112 police and an ambulance arrived promptly. All injured parties were rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention.
The accident took place near the Rithiya Overbridge within the municipal police jurisdiction. Authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine the causes behind the collision.
According to doctors treating the injured, the police reported that a serious accident occurred between the car and the bus near Rithiya. One patient suffered a head injury and was referred to BRD Medical College after receiving initial treatment. Sadly, two individuals were confirmed dead at the scene, while another’s condition was critical. As of the time of this report, the identities of the deceased have not been established, and police are working to identify them through the vehicle’s registration.
Authorities revealed that the Tata Tiago car was traveling from Lucknow to Bihar when it changed lanes and collided with a bus heading towards Lucknow. The occupants of the car sustained injuries and were all sent to Sadar Hospital. Following the accident, traffic on the highway was severely disrupted. However, police managed to clear the wreckage from the road, alleviating the congestion.
