Nashik, September 3: During his visit to Nashik, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, met with a delegation of tribal students to hear their issues and demands. This group included students who are currently on a hunger strike to voice their concerns.
Gandhi shared insights on the social media platform X, stating that he listened attentively to the students and discussed education-related issues. He emphasized that every student has the right to a respectful, safe, and conducive environment for their studies.
In his message, he stated, “Every student deserves a respectful, safe, and conducive atmosphere for education. Students from marginalized communities require not neglect from the system, but support and every possible assistance. Education is not a privilege; it is a right for every student in India.”
This dialogue comes at a time when protests and hunger strikes are gaining attention in various parts of Maharashtra regarding the education system in tribal hostels and ashram schools, as well as student welfare issues. It is believed that students presented their demands concerning hostel facilities, educational resources, and the effective implementation of welfare schemes to Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi attended the closing session of a ten-day residential training program organized under the Congress’s ‘Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan’ in Nashik. This training camp provided organizational training to 78 newly appointed district and city Congress presidents from Maharashtra.
During his visit, Gandhi will address party officials and share his views on “Global Politics and India.” The event will also see the presence of several senior Congress leaders and officials, including K.C. Venugopal, Harshvardhan Sapkal, Vijay Wadettiwar, Balasaheb Thorat, Satej (Bunty) Patil, Nana Patole, Manikrao Thakre, Nasim Khan, and others.
This marks Rahul Gandhi’s second visit to Maharashtra in the past two weeks. Previously, he participated in the ‘Students’ Voice’ event in Pune, discussing issues related to education and social justice.
