DP World PGTI CEO Amandeep Johal expressed pride in hosting the NexGen event in Varanasi for the first time, noting that it is also the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stated, “This event reflects our commitment to take professional golf beyond traditional centers and bring it to the heart of India. Varanasi’s rich heritage and enthusiastic golf community make it an ideal host. We are eager to provide a platform for young professionals to compete and grow. This tournament aims to promote professional golf in Varanasi and inspire more local youth to embrace the sport.”

Anurag Gupta, Secretary of BLW Greens, remarked, “We are proud and delighted that BLW Greens, Varanasi, is hosting its first DP World PGTI NexGen event. This is a significant moment not only for our club but also for the development of golf in Varanasi. Hosting such a large-scale professional tournament puts Varanasi on the national golfing map, allowing local golf fans, young players, and the general public to witness high-level professional golf. We look forward to providing an excellent experience for players, officials, partners, and spectators. We wish all the players the best of luck.”

A Pro-Am event was held on June 14, where the team of professional Pankaj Mandia and amateurs Manoj Manjhi, Ritesh Singh, and Amit Verma emerged victorious. The winning team received their awards from Anurag Gupta, Secretary of BLW Greens.
