Patna, June 30: A golden opportunity has emerged for those seeking employment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna. The institute has announced the recruitment of candidates for a total of 45 Senior Resident (Non-Academic) positions across various departments under the Government of India’s residency scheme for a three-year tenure.
The available positions include 7 in Anesthesiology, 2 in Anatomy, 3 in Clinical Hematology, 1 in Dermatology, 2 in Emergency Medicine, 1 in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, 5 in General Medicine, 3 in General Surgery, 3 in Ophthalmology, 2 in Orthopedics, 3 in Pediatrics, 4 in Pathology/Lab Medicine, 1 in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, 1 in Psychiatry, 2 in Radio-Diagnosis, 4 in Radiation Oncology, and 1 in Transfusion Medicine and Blood Bank.
The online application process began on June 23 and will close on July 14. Eligible candidates wishing to apply for these positions can submit their registration forms on the official AIIMS Patna website before the deadline.
Applicants must possess a recognized postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB/DM/MCH) in the relevant department from the Medical Council of India/NMC/NBE. Candidates with an MD in General Medicine and Pediatrics are also eligible to apply for Clinical Hematology. Furthermore, all PG students appearing for their final exams in July can apply, provided they submit their passing certificates to the Medical Superintendent’s office at AIIMS Patna before the results are announced.
The maximum age limit for applicants is set at 45 years, calculated as of the application deadline. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations. Selection of eligible candidates will be based on a written examination (MCQ-based), personal interview, and document verification. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of ₹67,700, along with additional benefits and allowances.
While filling out the application form, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee online: ₹1,500 for General/OBC candidates, along with applicable transaction charges, and ₹1,200 for SC/ST/EWS candidates, also with applicable transaction charges. Ex-servicemen, women, and PWD candidates are exempt from any fees.
The written examination is scheduled for August 2 at the “Examination Hall, Administrative Building, AIIMS Patna,” from 11 AM to 12 PM, with candidates required to report by 10:30 AM. Admit cards for the written exam will be issued on July 31 via the AIIMS Patna website.
Following the written examination, a list of candidates eligible for the interview will be announced on August 4. Interviews will take place between August 5 and 7, starting at 10 AM in the “Committee Hall, Admin Building, AIIMS Patna,” with candidates required to report by 9 AM at the “E-Classroom, Admin Building, AIIMS Patna.”
