
Daman, June 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Daman on Friday, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 56 development projects worth approximately ₹2,970 crores. Key projects include the inauguration of the NamO Hospital and NamO Airport.
Upon PM Modi’s arrival, BJP leader Aspi Damania expressed to a news agency, “The atmosphere here is festive with the Prime Minister’s visit.”
Local residents displayed immense enthusiasm. One supporter remarked, “PM Modi has done so much for us. He has opened hospitals, built schools, and established several engineering colleges. I consider him a god; he does everything for us.”
Another supporter added, “Despite being a small area, we have seen significant development and are receiving such large facilities.”
A local resident, visibly emotional, said, “Until now, we had only seen him on TV. Today, we saw him in person. We pray that he remains Prime Minister every year.”
Residents mentioned that for the past ten days, they had been tirelessly decorating Daman in anticipation of this visit. They expressed that Daman has received gifts of development they had never imagined.
The NamO Airport and NamO Hospital projects are expected to provide better health services and improved connectivity for the local population. There is tremendous excitement among the people as they prepare to welcome the Prime Minister.
It is noteworthy that during his visit, PM Modi inaugurated various development projects aimed at enhancing regional connectivity, health services, tourism, and infrastructure. The new terminal building of NamO Airport was inaugurated, which will strengthen air connectivity for Daman and the entire Union Territory, significantly boosting tourism.
Additionally, PM Modi inaugurated the NamO Hospital and laid the foundation for significant projects such as the Iconic Bridge, Daman Convention Center, and the NIFT campus. The construction of modern multipurpose jetties and port facilities in the Lakshadweep islands of Kalapeni and Kadmat was also initiated.
